Kim Thompson will be at our class next Monday to talk about the nursing success grant program and the $100 we are eligible for and how it will work.
Also, for 1st time Davis NCLEX review attendees:
Go to L308 and see Kim Thompson and have her send the $100 to the Davis NCLEX review immediately! On Monday, be prepared to give me your registration forms and payment as by then I should have a more accurate count of the remaining amount that you will owe based on the number of attendees going.
*Note - For returning Davis NCLEX review attendees:
DO NOT SEND IN YOUR MONEY BECAUSE IT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED TO YOU !!!

Who wants free money? Say, $100 for NCLEX review!
Hey guys...This is no hoax. Below is a modified posting of what Kelly Widger from 3rd semester just posted today. She had just found out from the nursing success grant program that we can get some free money...Read on...
GREAT NEWS......... the nursing success grant will be paying $100 of your registration fee for the NCLEX review session of your choice!! This is only if you are eligible for their services and enrolled with them. If you are a student that receives a refund for the ATI testing or that does not have to pay for ATI then chances are you are eligible. This is a one time offer .
This works great for those of us wanting to attend the review at SFSU, thus possibly lowering the price down from $200 to $100 for 1st timers, and literally for free for those of us returning! Remember, the grant will be paying $100 of your $200 fee, or $100 of the NCLEX review of your choice. You will not need to be reimbursed this $100 it goes directly to Review for Nurses in San Francisco or to review of your choice, but must be sent directly to organization not to ADN student.

I'll start collecting registration forms and payment on Monday Oct. 01 with the due date of final collection on Monday Oct. 15. Passport photos for the BRN application can be done at AAA. To find locations go to AAA.com. I know they do them in the Lodi office, you do not need an appt there; price is $10/members or $15 CASH ONLY/non-members for two photos.

Hi everone, graduation is just 4 months away! For all of you that are interested in taking thier review with Kaplan, I have some information. The Review will be held on campas at Delta Jan 5th & 6th and 12th &13th, it is a total of eight sessions and two tests. The cost is going to depend on how many people sign up.
Cost: $499
15 students or less = $75 off = $424
16 - 30 students = $100 off = $399
30 + students $125 off = $374

SNA PDA Party - Sept. 17th!!
Your Student Nursing Association will be presenting a PDA party Sept. 17th 1-3pm in Locke 314.
Bonnie Boss has agreed to come give her PDA presentation. We invite other SJDC students to be on hand to give a PDA "show and tell". Come make some suggestions for future meetings that will provide you with the info you really need to know!
All are welcome to attend, if you still have not registered for the SNA, we will be happy to register you at the door.
SNA items will be raffled and Snacks will be served!!

Graduation is coming up soon and then our NCLEX exam! For those of you that attended the last one with me I encourage you to take advantage of going again at your super discounted rate! I really liked the format presented! The speakers were experts in their fields and were interesting to listen to! What a combo! Additionally, the test-taking strategies were helpful! So, if you like a course that is designed to refresh your background knowledge from our entire nursing school, then this course is for you. It is not a question saturated format like Kaplan, however, they do include many questions per section as they drill you using the test-taking strategies!

For every 10 people who sign up, the 11th person will go free! Therefore, if 20 sign up, then the 11th and 21st person go free, etc...! We can raffle off the freebie admission or divide the savings amongst us if that sounds good to you guys!

PS Thanks to everyone that helped with the SNA this semester... Especially Sandra ;) and Mrs Batson!! It was tough to learn it from scratch but it's rock'n and roll'n now - 80 people showed to meeting on May 14th! That was my last meeting as Pres and the newly elected officers will be taking over in August.

Just a random question
I recently went to the doctor and found that I have iron deficiency anemia. (I had the same problem last semester.) Anyway, she said to take 325 mg of ferrous sulfate three times a day. I took 325 mg this morning and I felt the worst nausea I've felt in a while. Does anyone have any idea what food I should take with it? I read that it should be taken on an empty stomach, but I don't know if I can do that.
