Graduation Music

Okay folks,

We need to choose some music for our graduation pinning ceremony and only 3 of you responded to my previous post.
So here's the list so far:

"Do I make u proud" by Taylor Hicks
"Wonderful World" Louis Armstrong's
"The Long And Winding Road" Paul McCartney
"Lean On Me" Bill Withers
"Imagine" John Lennon
“Don't you forget about me” by Simple Minds
“My wish” by Rascal Flatts
“Don’t dream it’s over” Crowded house

If you have an idea for a song let me know so I can add it to the list and get a copy of the songs to Mary Neville. You need to decide what songs you want in the slide show and what songs you want played during the ceremony.

I need your song selections AND pictures by December 5th.
You can email them to me at iridemyownmc@yahoo.com or call my cell, (209) 815-3139 and if you have a CD of photos we can meet up and I'll make sure to return the disc back to you.

December 5th people!!! If you don't get your photos in by then and you dont see yourself on the show. I don't want to hear it. Please don't hassle me you've had notice since the beginning of the summer. If I don't get any responses(like before).... I'm going to keep the slide show how it is with the songs that are already on it.

I'll keep you all posted.

I went on my playlist and heard all of the songs and I think that we should go with.

Taylor Hicks (not a big fan but if u hear the lyrics it is a good one)

The number one pick for me is My wish by rascal flatts. The lyrics is the best for the occassion.

All of the choices were good but after listening to them all this is what I came up with. I think that we should get Glenn to sing It's a Wonderful World. He has the perfect voice for it. I am curious as to what everyone else thinks but whatever you come up with Jill I am sure it will be fine. I have sent you several pictures of people I hope you got them all.

Thanks for putting this together.

I like These Are The Special Times by Celine Dion. I told you about that one but I don't see it on the list.

You're right Sandra, you did tell me about it. I was going to put it on the list but I forgot the title of the song. I even tried googling it, but Celine Dion has billions of songs, and I couldn't find it:( Now it's on the list.

Elizabeth-- the original songs I have on the slide show are Don't you forget about me, and Don't dream it's over.

Another thing I want to add is that in these pictures for the slide show, try to send some with you (the ADN student) in them. It's fine if family and friends are in it, but you (the student) should be in the picture too.

I dont think that family and friends should be in the slide show. The slide show should be about our experiences in NURSING SCHOOL or NURSING functions and should include ourselves and/or our classmates. I for one have sent several pictures that were of my classmates and did not even include myself.

I just listened to Celine Dion and I am all for that one good pick Sandra, so I have one vote for Dion and Rascall Flatts

I need a clarification. How many songs can we have for the ceremony?

Thanks for adding it Jill.

I think the main focus of the slide should be about the students, however it should include family as well. Our families have sacrafice as much as we have and they were our main support system.

Maybe the slideshow should have different titles in between diffent kinds of pictures. For instance, Clinicals (or whatever), hanging out (the pics outside of school), and the ones who gave support through this...Our families(with the different pics of family and personal events. So much has happened during this program, some got married, while others had babies. It just shows through it all we still have other things in our lives going on and we still remained focused and determined.

To make a long story short, We Made It with the help of our families and our new friends, our classmates. Everyone deserve that recognition because it has been hard on us all.

I just hope that we get to view the slide show before it is a final thing.

I agree with Sandra as far as our families being a huge part of our success however, I think the slide show should be for students only. We only have a limited time for the slide show and I would hate to have students not included because someone else had pictures of their entire family in it. I like the songs you already have on the slide show Jill.

I totally agree with stacie. Keep in mind folks that our ceremony is already going to be long because we have our class as well as LVNs and Psych techs so im thinking that they have put together a slide show. If we include pictures of our families we will be there FOREVER! I know our families have sacrificed so much these past two years, but this is our graduation and it is about us and our experiences.

I will go with the consensus with song selections. I have no preference.

You said it perfectly Elizabeth!

"We are the Champions" Queen

I was thinking of "Stand" by Rascal Flats. It is about someone going through alot and standing strong in the end. Just a suggestion.

jill, i like your first pick of the two songs and i like the queen song.

Jodie, you are AWESOME

Just got word from Shelba Durston that family photos will NOT be included in the slide show. We only have a certain amount of time that we have to share with the 2 other graduating classes, and this ceremony is about us, THE STUDENTS!

Thanks Jill for working on that...problem solved!
