Would Tues the 5th at 1115ish be good for you Dan, Jennifer and anyone else interested in preserving the blogs for the future nursing semesters?

Blogger Meeting Needed!

Calling all Blog administrators and active bloggers!
We need to get together face to face and have a pow wow over lunch or something. We need to talk about how to keep the blogs active and going after we leave Delta. We need to have cross administrative priviledges to help each other out with tech support, mentoring, CD example helps and continuing invitations to the proper blog as new students slide sideways into our classes (out of sync). We need to get helpful links and email addresses onto a master sheet to handoff to the new semesters so that the helpful sites dont get lost in older blogs.
In other words, we need to talk about our mission, vision and goals!
Dan Oden (2nd sem) has suggested Friday Sept 2nd or the following Tues.
I (4th sem) am doing a 12 on Friday but am available Mon, Wed, Thurs of this week and Tues, Wed and Fri of next week.
Please post here with your availability so that we can all come together at a mutually agreed upon time.

N5 test on Monday

SJDC ADN Class of 2007 Our first test is creaping up on us. I noticed that only one of you responded to the study answers. We really have to work together from the start to insure that we all can get good grades. Please feel free to share any answers that you may feel that give a better choice to what I just posted. I got the email from Mrs. Ippolitto and clicked on the link, but I cant open to see the study guide. can someone post the questions on here, i saw that liana posted the answers but i was just wondering if someone can post the questions....thanks.

hey all you helpful people....

it's nice to be helpful and post all the helpful study questions here, but it takes up a LOT of vertical space. might i suggest posting a title with a description, and then putting the body of information (ie:study questions) as the first comment within the post? that way the post is only a few lines long, instead of 20" of monitor scrolling, and if you're not in, say N5, you can skip by it and see what everyone else has to say. :)

I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE!

We need to have a PDA Party ASAP for the 1^st Semester Nursing students. It looks as if a Monday 1300 or 1400ish might be the best time for all semesters. (It would be nice if maybe the SNA could take this up as an ongoing project every semester). I cannot do this alone. This involves a lot of sharing and instruction 1 on 1. I need anyone with any kind of PDA to share what you have learned so far in your PDA usage. We are all still learning and can swap programs, helps and ideas with each other.

We need the PDA information sheet that was provided by the 2^nd semester at the welcome tea. Can someone please send me a copy?
We also need to consolidate all past posted PDA info and any other info that we have access to.

This is an important project that will benefit all students and Nursing faculty alike. Please help and post replies here or email them to me.

BIG BIG OOPS !!!!!!!!!

I have been working on giving our test bank a face lift for the past few weeks. I have fixed all of the links, made titles for easy test link ID, rearranged the order and colors, etc.
but then...........
I got so excited and relieved to be finally finished that I accidentally hit the wrong key and deleted the whole bank out the Blog's existence.
Fortunatly, I have been keeping an updated copy on a word doc just in case (I know myself too well), but I do not know how to get it back to that exact moment in time to have all links to the bank still work. So I have reposted it in our January 2005 archives.

I have attempted to fix all of the recent links to the bank that I can find or have access to, but I can't fix all the links or the bookmarks that some of you may have made. Please let me know if you find any bad links.

Face lift for the test bank

The Test Bank is currently under construction to clean up the appearance and to organize it better. You are still able to use it. Keep watching for changes and please bear with me. Thanks!

Community Service Opportunity!

From the desk of Mary Neville:
Kaiser is having a health fair on Sunday, August 20 from 8:00am to
3:00pm, at three Kaiser clinic locations. Please be aware when you are considering volunteering that, if there is not a Delta Nursing instructor at a site, the students will not be allowed to perform any regular nursing skills, just assist with other tasks as needed (i.e.: chaperone for paps, etc.). The fair is much like Su Salud and may evolve to replace Su Salud in the future.
This is a very late notice from Mary Neville, but it will look great on your resume and offers another community learning experience.
The upside, we will get to practice our skills, have fun and get a free T-Shirt.
The down side, if no instructors show up, we will only be able to be helpers of the non invasive sort. (but we will still have fun)
If you are interested, I have volunteer forms for Manteca, Modesto and Stockton that you can download and fill out to send to Kaiser ahead of time. You can also call or email the nursing office.

We are having the campus wide Welcome Day for new students on
Tuesday, August 15 from 10 am to 2pm. If you have an hour or two or
four and can help, we will have a table in Danner for the Health Science
programs. I also may need some help from 8am to around 9 or 9:30 am for
balloon blowing up activities. If you can help, send me an email or

The new semester's nursing blog has been created!

Do you know what this means? This will be the first time in the history of Delta's nursing history (that I know of anyway) that all 4 nursing semesters will be connected together in virtual cooperation and study!
This means that you are now virtual Parentbloggers!
Go check them out and watch as their blog develops.

Your semester is the closest mentor group to the newbies. Help them out with lots of study tips and shortcuts that you have learned. You know how they feel cuz you just, Been there, Done that! Mentors needed!
Share with them your stories of what you have seen and experienced so far and how you learned to put it all together!

THANK YOU

I want to thank everyone once again for helping with the tea, it was a great success. This event would not have turned out so well without the help that everyone put in it. I am sorry if I sounded like a nag in the beginning but I knew that as a class we were capable of putting together a tea that will be remembered for times to come and that is just what we accomplished. Team work is what it took and in the end that is what we did and I cant say how proud I am that we came together as a class and showed the new incoming students a grand welcome into their new semester. I will say it a thousand times, THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!!
